URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: Save Christian Mom Asia Bibi from Execution - A Christian mom has been sentenced to death in Pakistan for her faith. Asia Bibi was falsely accused of “blasphemy” – speaking against the prophet Muhammad. Now this wife and mother of five will hang for her Christian faith.She would be the first woman executed under Pakistan’s Shariah blasphemy law.This is the ultimate human rights violation. We’re mobilizing our international affiliate – the European Centre for Law and Justice – and its partner in Pakistan to stop this atrocity. Add your name to our letter to the government of Pakistan demanding Asia Bibi’s freedom.Go to http://aclj.org/persecuted-church/save-christian-mom-asia-bibi-from-execution; please add your signature to mine and over 35,000 others AND pray for Asia Bibi.

URGENT REQUEST: Pray for Brittany Maynard (discussed in past posts #1025 and #1026 and the second article in post #1032) who plans to commit suicide  SAT., NOV. 1. Pray that there are family and friends who will finally persuade her to change her mind.

U.S. Supreme Court has Reconvened: Let's be praying WHENEVER the Court is in session as their decisions can have impact on GENERATIONS to come. The fact that they may have an opportunity this session to actually vote on same-sex "marriage" where it has the same impact on this country that Roe v. Wade did should be motivating enough!

ELECTION DAY, NOV. 4th.  Let's begin praying that the American people will have wisdom in voting into office those who will lead our communities and nation with integrity and wisdom from God and DO NO HARM!.

"Not Everyone Happy with Religious Ambassador Pick," Caitlin Burke,July 29, 2014;
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2014/July/Obama-Taps-Rabbi-for-Religious-Freedom-Ambassador/  "..An estimated 76 percent of the world's population live in countries where religious freedom is restricted. Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States must take a strong stand against those violations. "Around the world repressive governments and extremists groups have been crystal clear about what they stand against, so we have to be equally clear about what we must stand for," Kerry said. "We stand for greater freedom, for greater tolerance, greater respect, for rights of freedom of expression and freedom of conscience," he said A key development in the 2013 report is the large number of displaced members of religious communities, including entire Christian communities in Syria and Iraq that have been forced to flee their homes because of persecution."

"Alabama Abortion Facility Reopens Next to Middle School" by Sarah Zagorski | Huntsville, AL | LifeNews.com | 10/22/14; http://www.lifenews.com/2014/10/22/alabama-abortion-facility-reopens-next-to-middle-school/

[AS I SEE IT: This story reminds me of how I first thought of becoming involved in youth work even at the age of 48. I was giving prayer support one Saturday at a crisis pregnancy center. I would sit in a room off the waiting room and as a client would come in for an appointment, I would go into prayer. Well, I suddenly noticed through the crack in my door that two very young girls had walked into the  facility. Later I learned that one was a girl who was 13 and had had an abortion the year before! She was there with her 12 year old cousin who thought she might be pregnant! I remember going home and telling God that for this kind of thing to be going on was just crazy. I then asked Him if there was some way I could be involved in impacting teens with God's truth so that things like what I realized is going on in our society can be addressed. So...an abortion clinic next to a middle school? A sign of our decadent times we all need to be alarmed about. [P.S. - I wish teens in our churches as young as in middle school could be equipped to know how to speak to a fellow teen who faces a crisis pregnancy or at least to know how to refer them to a local crisis pregnancy center before that teen  schedules an abortion. - Stan]

"... The reopening of this facility is especially upsetting because over 15% of the abortions that take place in Alabama are performed on teenagers. And the AWCRA employs Raymond Lopez, the abortionist who recently spent every weekend for six months in jail due to a court order in a domestic case. Is this the kind of man and business Huntsville citizens want near their children?"

'According to the Huntsville Times, even citizens who are “neutral” on abortion opposed opening an abortion facility next to a middle school. City councilman Will Culver conducted a town hall meeting about the facility and said, 'I don’t want this meeting to be about whether abortion is legal, ethical or moral. We just want to have a discussion about the fact that the clinic is going to be in close proximity to a couple of schools. I’ve heard from a lot of people in the community who are saddened with it being that close to two schools. To me, that’s just not a good mixture.' ”

"Generation Y and Why They Are Naturally Pro-Life" by Maria Vitale Gallagher | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 10/22/14;

“You’ve got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You’ve got to be taught
From year to year,
It’s got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You’ve got to be carefully taught.”

– From the Broadway musical “South Pacific”

The lyrics above explored discrimination — but I think the sentiment also applies to the pro-abortion cause. I think you have to be carefully taught to deny the humanity of the unborn child and to accept Roe v. Wade.

   I was reminded of this truism during a recent talk I gave to 7th and 8th grade religion students. I started by asking them how many abortions they thought took place in the U.S. each year. When I told them the number was estimated at more than a million, a look of incredulity crossed their faces — as if I had informed them their parents were throwing out their cell phones.

When we ventured onto the topic of euthanasia, their bewilderment increased. They could not understand why anyone would intentionally kill anyone — especially an elderly person or a person with a disability — under the guise of compassion. They were astounded.

I suppose someone on the pro-abortion side might argue that these students lacked the maturity to fully understand the issue of abortion. Yet, the same individual would probably argue that the female students would be mature enough to go before a judge and obtain a judicial bypass for an abortion.

Which is it — are young people not thoughtful enough to grasp Roe? Or are they so mature that they no longer need parental input in their decisions? I would argue that a young person’s tendency is to treasure life — especially the lives of people younger than themselves. It is only when society brainwashes them into believing that life is random, dependent upon another’s whims, and disposable that they veer off into pro-abortion land.

After all, you have to be carefully taught.
