#554 (6/18) Actor's Spiritual Journey; Pentagon Censoring Christian Art;...

URGENT PRAYERS/PETITIONS:
Same -Sex "Marriage"- PLEASE PRAY WITH ME (every day untill the decision is revealed sometime in June) THAT THE SUPREME COURT WILL VOTE TO UPHOLD THE 2 LAWS REVIEWED SUPPORTING A TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE.. PRAY that the Court will resist any pressure to MAKE new law based on "cultural trends." PRAY as though the very future of the institution of the family is at stake because it is. PRAY for the sake of possibly millions of children, and for our country if it is to continue to be shown any more favor by our Heavenly Father, who I promise you will be very displeased if homosexual marriage is legalized; "GOD IS NOT [TO BE] MOCKED..." - (Gal. 6:7)  - Stan [Be sure to check out my brief essay at post #478.]

"Prayer Alert: Pastor Irani Imprisoned with Saeed," CBNNews.com; Friday, June 14, 2013  http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2013/June/Prayer-Alert-Pastor-Irani-Imprisoned-with-Saeed/?cpid=EU_CWN_2013_165 According to Truth Ministries, Pastor Saeed Abedini is not alone in Iran's infamous Evin Prison. Irani was convicted for committing crimes against Iran's national security after holding house church services and leading many Iranian Muslims to Christ. He was arrested and tried twice: first in December 2006 and again April 2010. Now Truth Ministries reports that "in the past year he has been beaten by prisoners under the watchful eye of prison authorities. As a result he is beginning to lose his eyesight, has what seems to be untreated Inflammatory Bowel Disease, is barely able to speak and has trouble walking." He's also suffering from internal bleeding and a painful skin condition. PRAY for Pastor Irani to be healed AND to be released very soon  To find out how you can help Pastor Abedini, please sign the petition at : https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/take-steps-our-allies-and-un-put-pressure-iranian-government-release-pastor-behnam-irani/7px5JR82

"Hugh Jackman's Spiritual Journey"
-
from www.MastermediaIntl.org

He is an Oscar nominee recognizable for major roles as Jean Valjean in Les Mis and for starring in the X-Men films. He’s an Aussie whose mother abandoned the family when he was eight years old. He’s got 43 film and TV credits listed on Internet Media Data Base (IMDB.com). He was the recent subject of a special feature by Stephen Galloway in The Hollywood Reporter. And he is on a spiritual journey.
Hugh’s family was “deeply religious” in the Church of England and more conservative after accepting Christ under Billy Graham’s ministry. Hugh grew up in the church. “I was so involved with so many things in the church. It was my social group. It was where I met girls. It was sort of my life out of school. Then, around sixteen or seventeen, I started questioning . . .”
Today, he is “not particularly religious,” never prays, but believes in some form of God and afterlife. He meditates twice a day for thirty minutes. PRAY for God and Hugh Jackman to reconnect.

"Artist Says Pentagon Censoring Christian Art," CBNNews.com; June 05, 2013 http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2013/June/Artist-Says-Pentagon-Censoring-Christian-Art/

An artist whose painting was removed from an U.S. Air Force dining hall says the Pentagon is censoring Christian art. Ron Dicianni's painting is called "Blessed are the Peacemakers" and references the scripture Matthew 5:9. It was part of a collection to honor the heroes who responded to the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The painting was removed from Idaho's Mountain Home Air Force Base less than an hour after a complaint from Mikey Weinstein, the founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

This is the same organization leader called religious proselytizing "a national security threat" in a private meeting with Pentagon officials last April. The artist's son, Grant DiCianni, told Fox News, "On its face, this seems like nothing short of a clear anti-Christian agenda."Grant DiCianni is also president of Tapestry Productions. "It appears that the Air Force and the Pentagon have undertaken a dangerous war to rid the military of anything that points to Christ and that needs to be brought to light," he said.

"A Race for a Sequel to 'The Passion of the Christ,' " Mastermedia International, Posted on Thursday, April 11, 2013 | http://www.mastermediaintl.org/press_release/a-sequel-to-the-passion-of-the-christ/
cross sunsetEver since Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ was viewed by millions and generated hundreds of millions in revenue, there has been a “race” to produce a sequel. After all, The Passion left the story of Jesus with only a brief touch on His rising again.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul Bond, there is a race to get a film to the screen that will begin where Gibson’s film left off. Mastermedia’s chairman, Larry Poland, has read three screenplays—by four aspirants—that are contenders in the race. All four are pushed by independents that are passionate (no pun intended) about telling the story of the risen Christ, his post-resurrection appearances, and his ascension. One script ends the story with an incredibly compelling portrayal of Pentecost.
Randy LaHaye, grandson of Left Behind author Tim LaHaye, is spearheading The Resurrection, which was rescued from Sony Screen Gems after an early deal with the studio went south. The screenplay, written by veteran Lionel Chetwynd, who has 43 film and TV credits, creates conflict and drama in the story by highlighting interplay between Pilate and Roman soldiers surrounding the biblical events. With a reported $20 million raised for the production, this film has the “inside track” on getting to the screen, according to Bond.

American Trademark Pictures says it has $30 million to produce and commitment for $45 million to release The Resurrection of the Christ, which could be renamed Golgotha. This film was written by Dan Gordon, who wrote Wyatt Earp and The Hurricane. The Messiah, from a nonprofit organization called In Jesus’ Name Productions, covers the death, resurrection and subsequent events through Pentecost. David Wood, owner of Dread Warrior Productions, “a media and funding company,” is pursuing creative funding ideas to advance The Resurrection of Jesus Christ with the goal of having it in theaters in 2015. A fourth screenplay focusing on an apologetics approach to evidence for the resurrection of Jesus has yet to gain traction.

But the best news is that all four projects are backed by committed believers in the Savior who want to tell the true story and have the Risen Lord touch the lives of multitudes.
