#2718 (6/30) SUNDAY SPECIAL: "Remembering Kara Tippetts, Two Years after Her Death - FOR MANY OF US, HER DEATH WAS PART OF ‘LIFE’S HARD’"

"Remembering Kara Tippetts, Two Years after Her Death - FOR MANY OF US, HER DEATH WAS PART OF ‘LIFE’S HARD’" - by Warren Cole Smith, Breakpoint.org, March 24, 2017; http://www.breakpoint.org/2017/03/remembering-kara-tippetts-two-years-death/ [NOTE: Though this article was posted 2 years ago, I never got a chance to post it but do so now because the Truth it presents is timeless. It's the question of how do we  meet suffering - do we run from it or do we embrace it as we would a gift from God.  - Stan]
Kara Tippetts, who died on March 22, 2015—two years ago this week—was a remarkable woman. She and her husband Jason had four beautiful children and a thriving new church that Jason started and where he serves as pastor. But soon after they moved to Colorado Springs to start that church, Kara discovered she had breast cancer. Despite aggressive treatment, the cancer spread throughout her body.

I had the chance to interview Kara at her home in Colorado just months before her death, and she told me then that she was “a terrible sick person. I hate being sick.” So it might have been easy for her to retreat into self-pity. Instead, she started blogging about her experiences with a remarkable transparency that immediately won her readers: 10,000 to 20,000 page views every day. A publisher discovered the blog, and the result was her first book “The Hardest Peace: Expecting Grace in the Midst of Life’s Hard.”

But despite intense prayer and all the efforts of medical professionals, Kara eventually did succumb to cancer. Hundreds came to her memorial service in Colorado Springs, and nearly 20,000 people watched the service online from all parts of the world.

Before she died, Kara Tippetts co-wrote another book, “Just Show Up: The Dance of Walking through Suffering Together.” And a year after her death, another book appeared, “And It Was Beautiful: Celebrating Life in the Midst of the Long Goodbye.”

As Kara’s story was spreading in the Christian community, assisted suicide entered the national conversation in the form of another young woman, Brittany Maynard. Maynard became a national celebrity for announcing she would commit suicide rather than continue to suffer through cancer. Kara wrote a powerful letter to Brittany Maynard that also became a part of that national conversation.
Kara’s letter read, in part: “Suffering is not the absence of goodness, it is not the absence of beauty, but perhaps it can be the place where true beauty can be known. In your choosing your own death, you are robbing those that love you with such tenderness the opportunity of meeting you in your last moments and extending you love in your last breaths.”

I remember Kara Tippetts this week because it is the two-year anniversary of her death, and because my brief time with her had such an impact on me and on thousands. But I also remember her because it is Lent, a season which asks us to examine our hearts, to remember our sin and mortality, but also to prepare ourselves spiritually for the glorious season of Easter. Kara Tippetts, even in death, has much to teach us when it comes to these spiritual disciplines. Her life and death are reminders that the suffering of Lent—and the suffering of this world—is not the end of our stories.

I should also add that while Kara’s death brought much sadness to her family and friends, it was also not the end of the story for Jason Tippetts and their children.
While I was interviewing Kara back in the summer of 2014, Jason Tippetts came into the room. I paused the recording and we chatted for a while. A part of that conversation involved what Jason should do after Kara died. Kara was characteristically forthright and adamant: She wanted Jason to remarry. In fact, Kara wrote about that desire in her books and on the Mundane Faithfulness blog.
Still, when she said that, Jason came almost to tears. He vigorously nodded his head and turned away, saying he didn’t want to think or talk about it. I felt Jason’s discomfort, and quickly changed the subject.

But since that day, now almost three years ago, a remarkable thing has happened. When Kara died, Jason took a leave of absence from the church and went on a long camping and road trip around the country with his children. When Jason and the children came back to Colorado Springs, he continued to pour himself into the church he and Kara helped found on the west side of the city. And after a year, he began pouring himself into a new relationship. Two weeks ago, Jason Tippetts married Sarah Hartley at a beautiful outdoor service in California.

I join many of you in praying for God’s richest blessings on Jason, Sarah, and their new family.

#2717 (6/29) PRO-LIFE SAT: "Eugenics Is Still with Us - Death in the Name of 'Best Interests'’

"EUGENICS IS STILL WITH US - DEATH IN THE NAME OF 'BEST INTERESTS'" -  by John Stonestreet and G. Shane Morris, June 26, 2019; http://www.breakpoint.org/2019/06/breakpoint-eugenics-is-still-with-us/
Eugenics is a bad idea, a bad idea that, like all bad ideas, has victims. Efforts to keep those deemed inferior from reproducing or even existing were a central part of the Nazi experiment in Germany, which upended the entire world and led  to the extermination of millions of so-called “lives unworthy of life.”

And yet, eugenics is still with us. Not (thank God) the eugenics of the Nazi variety, but the West has long been unable to shake the sort of eugenics that’s reminiscent of the kind practiced before the Third Reich. This quieter type of eugenics is sold with the claim to have the best interests of victims and society in mind. Proponents wear clean, white lab coats or judges’ black robes, while still dehumanizing and advancing evil.

Just a few days ago, a British judge ordered that a woman with mental disability, who is in her twenties and in her second trimester of pregnancy be forced to have an abortion. This order was contrary to the communicated wishes of both the anonymous woman and her mother, who is an immigrant from Nigeria and a former midwife.
Judge Nathalie Lieven of the Court of Protection, which adjudicates cases involving mentally disabled persons, acknowledged that her order for a forced abortion was “an immense intrusion” into this young woman’s life, but she insisted the state was acting in her “best interests…” Having this child, Judge Lieven argued, would be more traumatic than killing it, because this disabled woman couldn’t possibly understand what it means to be a mother.
In a shockingly patronizing note, the judge went on: “I think she would like to have a baby in the same way she would like to have a nice doll.” So, presumably, the decision should be taken out of her hands and the hands of her family—who promised to care for the baby.

Thank God, as the Catholic News Service reported on Monday, the English Court of Appeals overturned this frightening ruling and halted the forced abortion, at least for now. The three justices on the Court promised to release the reasons for their decision at a later date. It’s anyone’s guess what they’ll say.

What we must demand, however, is that the horrifying logic that Judge Lieven used in her original decision is confronted and confined to the dustbins of judicial history. After all, her words were far too reminiscent of the words Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes used, writing for the majority in Buck v. Bell, in 1927. In that decision the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the forced sterilization of a woman with mental disability. Holmes’ infamous justification for violating this woman’s dignity: “Three generations of imbeciles are enough.”

Those words were later cited during post-World War II Nuremberg trials by Nazi defendants as proof of their innocence. Though forced sterilizations of the mentally disabled are, hopefully, a thing of the past, forced and selective abortions are every bit as much a form of eugenics, and are grounded in the same terrifying worldview.

In America, as in other developed countries, the vast majority of babies diagnosed in the womb with disabilities like Down syndrome are aborted. Again, this is done in the name of compassion, complete with the platitudes like, “Life with Down syndrome is not a life worth living.” How eerily similar to other phrases used by the Nazis to support the killing of those whom they deemed to be “unfit.”

You should know that prenatal tests that lead to our contemporary eugenics practices are nowhere near as reliable as advertised. According to a 2014 study in the New England Journal of Medicine, over half of women who were told their child likely had Down syndrome either delivered or aborted babies which turned out to be healthy. And a whopping 60 percent of babies diagnosed in utero with Edward syndrome, another chromosomal disorder, turned out to be healthy, too.

Even so, let’s be clear: All life is worth living, disability or not, and affirming the profound, inherent, and equal value of people with disabilities is an ancient, bedrock Christian practice.
The idea that there are certain people unworthy of life or of human rights is a tree that’s borne nothing but poisonous fruit for over a hundred years. Despite the historical horrors of the 20th century, it seems that too many are still willing to eat that fruit.

"MAKING AMERICA GREAT - FOR ALL AMERICANS" David Limbaugh: Jun 28, 2019; https://townhall.com/columnists/davidlimbaugh/2019/06/28/making-america-great--for-all-americans-n2549127 [AS I SEE IT: I will never forget how I was accused of hating African-Americans back in 2016 when I posted something on Facebook that expressed support for then candiddate Trump. Talk about an attack from "left" field! While it's certainly not true, I admit it still is intimidating. Such is the race card in America.  P.S. - I am thankful for the many African-Americans who have since stepped forward to express their gratitude for the President for the many things he has done to help minorities in America. - Stan
Source: AP Photo/Butch Dill

I know I'm not the only Trump supporter who is tired of progressives maliciously accusing President Trump and his supporters of racism. They've used the slander against conservatives for years, and it has only intensified in the Trump era.

Of all their other nasty smears, they get the most mileage with the race card, so it's unlikely they'll do the right thing and abandon it. They probably wouldn't stand a chance in presidential elections if they were to do so, as they depend on some 90 percent of the African American vote, which they seek to maintain by constantly stirring agitation.

They didn't need Trump as their ideal bogeyman on race, but caricaturing the GOP's leader sure doesn't hurt in perpetuating the fiction. For them Trump is an equal opportunity scoundrel -- he's bad in every category, so it's not a great leap to tar him as a racial bigot. His signature issue, immigration, just fell into their lap. Why else would he be such a border hawk if not for his racism? Please don't get me started on this outrage again. Just pray to God that the thrust of their message -- that you can't support American sovereignty unless you're a racist -- doesn't prevail, or the country truly is finished.

As I've noted before, I'm not sure what percentage of progressives actually swallow this bilge versus those who push it for political gain. But they (SET ITAL) are (END ITAL) pushing it, and it has caused great damage. Many rank-and-file leftists claim they feel threatened in the presence of MAGA hat-wearing citizens. Some writers have likened them to an unsophisticated version of Klansmen because Klansmen had the sense to wear hoods to conceal their identity.
Tolerant leftists believe that Trump supporters provoke them simply by evidencing their support for Trump, because they can't possibly support him without being racists, sexists and homophobes. They wear the hats not to signify their support but as an in-your-face symbol of their unapologetic bigotry.
Can you fathom how sick this is? How out of phase with reality? But it's apparently real to progressives, or they want you to believe it is.
On Tuesday's "Morning Joe," MSNBC's Joy Reid talked about her new book, "The Man Who Sold America: Trump and the Unraveling of the American Story."
Co-anchor Willie Geist asked her, "As you write about in the book, the people who heard the phrase 'Make America Great Again,' it meant to them an America that appeared to be slipping away was going to be reclaimed by this man, and their lives would return to what they were. I'm interested in the other side of it. What do you hear when you hear 'Make America Great Again'?"
Reid's response illustrates the extent to which progressives are promoting this delusional malice. "I hear exactly that," said Reid. "I hear make America a country that, in the 1950s, meant white Christian men had dominion over everyone else. That's exactly what it means when I hear it. It's George Wallace. He's just Republican George Wallace, and that message has been resonant and has actually been potent for a very long time. David Duke used that message when he ran for governor of Louisiana; George Wallace obviously used it and -- he had a pretty good chunk of the -- at the time, the Democratic Party. Richard Nixon used it. It's a common message because you just do have a certain quarter, maybe a third of the country, that does not like the idea that we're becoming a more multiracial society where women have a lot of asserted rights and where they're not on top."
There we have it again: If you are bullish on America, you are advertising your bigotry. Under this standard, at least leftists don't have to fear they'll be accused of bigotry. When you couple this nonsense with old white guys like Joe Biden -- Democratic presidential front-runner, no less -- saying Republicans want to put black people back into chains, and tons of other abominable slanders, what are African Americans supposed to think about us?

Well, many progressives don't want them to see the truth: that they have been stoking the flames of racial disharmony to obscure the reality that Republicans, conservatives and other Trump supporters believe in the equal dignity of all human beings, and that the Christians among them -- probably the vast majority -- believe this is true because we are all made in God's image.

The proof is in the pudding. Trump's economic policies -- lower taxes and regulations -- have generated explosive growth benefitting most Americans, including minorities, who are prospering and getting back to work at unprecedented numbers.

I realize that experts say you give credence to false allegations when you dignify them with a response, but I'll take my chances, because silence can sometimes be the elephant in the room.

So let's proclaim the message that we do indeed seek to restore and amplify America's greatness for the benefit of all Americans directly -- and the world, derivatively. God bless America.

“INTERCESSORS ARE THE RUDDER” – A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT - Wanda Alger, June 28th, 2017; https://www.getamericapraying.com/blog/I was recently given a word by my good friend, Bill Yount. His word greatly encouraged me as an intercessor. Working for Intercessors for America, I soon realized it was not just a word for me, but for all who have been praying for our nation, wondering if their prayers are truly making any difference. Bill told me, “I kept seeing you as a small rudder on a huge ship. Hidden, but giving guidance. Although it seemed slow it was turning the whole ship. Patience was needed to see the impact of your…ministry. I sense the Lord saying, ‘Don’t jump ship! I’ve made you the rudder!’ ” I was immediately touched in my spirit by this encouragement, knowing that our seemingly small place in prayer was having a great impact.
James 3:4 talks about the power of a small rudder to steer a large ship. In this scripture about the power of our tongue, consider the power of prophetic intercession! In the Forerunner Commentary on this verse we read, “…rudders manipulate the course of immense ocean vessels with a slight movement of a pilot’s hand. Since it is underwater and aft, the rudder of a ship does its work UNSEEN. A passenger is ignorant of its movements most of the time. Yet, when it is in proper working order, the rudder holds more power over the ship than the wind. The wind will blow, toss, even destroy the ship’s rigging, but the rudder guides the ship exactly where it directs.”
This is God’s promise to the intercessors in this hour of national turbulence. Don’t stop praying! Your prayers have great power to turn the ship! Continue praying, interceding, and discerning the workings and movements of the Holy Spirit, being faithful to God’s commands. As we come together to declare God’s faithfulness, this nation will, once again, head in the direction that God intends. Don’t give up and don’t give in. Regardless of the winds of adversity and the fires of the enemy, God’s people have a power that cannot be matched. Let us join in faith and continue to pray and speak of God’s faithfulness in order to bring God’s people and this nation into the fullness of God’s plans. Note this additional encouragement from God’s word:
Colossians 2:15 – “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him” (ESV).
Psalm 33:8-11 – “Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”
Wanda Alger, IFA Field Correspondent

PRAY FOR AMERICA: THANK GOD for His many blessings on America throughout it's history. May we then ask that AMERICA once again be a blessing TO GOD, by once again submitting to HIS will in our affairs - both personal and national - that He may truly "heal our land." (2 Chron. 7:14) Short of that, we should not be saying "God Bless America"but instead "God be merciful towards America!"
PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS 1) Pray for President Trump and his advisers, that they would select Godly leaders at the federal level who will be accountable to do an excellent job (or be fired!) ; that he would seek God's wisdom and be enabled to lead our country effectively in the years ahead; and 2) Pray our leaders at every level of government will Spirit-filled, leading us with Godly wisdom and integrity; that they will  only pass legislation and enact policies that will benefit Americans today as well as future generations and NOT do any lasting harm.
SUPREME COURT: PRAY that the justices will only hand down decisions that are Constitutionally sound and in the best interests of our country now and for future generations.

World-Wide Prayer Requests:

PRAISE GOD for the continuing recent successes against ISIS! P
ray that coalition forces will be able to  fully destroy the leadership and infrastructure of ISIS.
*For believers in Syria and in this region as they navigate so much uncertainty. May they remain faithful to God through these most difficult times as He sustains them with peace and His Spirit's strength.

SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THOSE WHO SUFFER
The Apostle Paul knew exactly what it was like to be alone, to be deserted by all who called themselves “brothers” and “sisters.” A former colleague who has done considerable travel among the persecuted says, “It is hard to believe that Christians are the largest persecuted group in the world today. But it is even more difficult to believe that this is so seldom mentioned in our gatherings and church services. More Christians know the names of their favorite actors than their fellow believers who are in prison.”
He continues, “With every trip something in my heart breaks as I hear the echoes of suffering:
I remember the echoes of an Egyptian mother as she shared how her young boy was stuck in a haystack because she refused to deny Jesus.
I remember the sounds of weeping as fellow students in Indonesia shared how Sariman, their co-student, was hacked to death.
I remember the cries of anguish as we walked from church to church that was burned to the ground on the island of Lombok.
I remember the tears of Rebecca in Iran as she showed the picture of her father who was stabbed to death for sharing the gospel.
I remember the voice of Pastor Daniel in Vietnam as he shared how he was chained to the ground for six months.

Oh, I remember the cries of Caleb in Eritrea as he shared with tears how two dear friends were executed in front of him because of their faith.
And I remember the tears of Joy in the southern Philippines as she shared how her fiancé was shot to death in their church in Mindanao.
But, most all, I remember the deafening sounds of silence every time I return home.

#2715 (6/27) "4 Takeaways From a New Report on the National Debt"

"4 TAKEAWAYS FROM A NEW REPORT ON THE NATIONAL DEBT" -  Justin Bogie / @JustinBogie / June 25, 2019 / https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/06/25/4-takeaways-from-a-new-report-on-the-national-debt
[AS I SEE IT: I admit that I don't understand all the details discussed in this article. But it seems obvious that without controlling our national debt - and very soon! - our leaders are putting us and future generatioins in grave danger. We need to PRAY that those in both parties will have the  courage to do what's needed before it's too late - if it's not already! - Stan]

By the end of this year, debt held by the public will amount to 78% of GDP, according to the Congressional Budget Office. (Photo: lionvision/Getty Images)

A new government report has given us a glimpse into our nation’s fiscal future, and the outlook is grim. Absent major reforms, America’s debt will only continue to balloon.

The Congressional Budget Office released its updated long-term budget report on Tuesday, which projects the nation’s fiscal situation for the next 30 years. Despite the strong economy, the nation remains in a precarious and unsustainable budget position, just as it was last year. Debt held by the public is set to rise to nearly one and a half times the size of the economy in the coming decades.
The report also highlights the high stakes of issues sitting before Congress—namely, whether or not lawmakers pass another budget deal to raise spending caps for fiscal year 2020 and beyond. The current proposal put forth by House Democrats would raise spending by at least $357 billion over two years, driving long-term debt even higher.

The bottom line is this: If Congress is to avoid a debt crisis, it must implement strong spending restraints now.
The first step is to reject the deal proposed by House Democrats. Instead, Congress ought to prioritize essential federal functions, like national defense, and cut wasteful and duplicative domestic programs that the federal government should have no role in.

Over the long term, cuts to discretionary spending won’t be enough to stabilize the debt. The true drivers of debt are our major entitlement programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Reforming these programs is essential if the country is to avoid a debt crisis and preserve these programs for the long term.

Here are four key takeaways from the report:
   1. The national debt continues to grow at an unsustainable rate.
The Congressional Budget Office projects that by the end of this year, debt held by the public will amount to 78% of gross domestic product. Over the next decade, debt will grow by another 14 percentage points of GDP, and within 15 years, the national debt will be larger than the economy.
In 30 years, the debt is projected to rise to 144% of GDP, nearly double the current level. And this could be an optimistic projection, since it assumes the 2017 tax cuts are allowed to expire and discretionary spending caps aren’t raised for the next two years.
However, even if the 2017 tax cuts are made permanent (they currently expire in 2025), revenues would still grow because Americans get wealthier over time, and thus more of our paychecks will be taxed at higher tax rates. If Congress allows the tax cuts to expire, the deficit would still continue to grow because even with increasing revenues, spending grows at an even faster pace.

Under these alternative assumptions, the report projects the deficit could be $774 billion higher than its baseline estimates in 2029. That’s over $2.1 trillion annually. By 2049, the Congressional Budget Office estimates the national debt could be more than twice the size of the economy—a staggering 219% of GDP and continuing to rise.

   2. Another budget deal will make things worse.
As outlined by the report’s alternative fiscal scenario, the decisions Congress makes today have long-term consequences.
The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 raised spending by $296 billion over two years. However, estimates showed that the law could add more than $2 trillion in debt over a decade. Only a fraction of the new funding was paid for. The effects of a two-year budget deal last long beyond that short window.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that if Congress doesn’t allow the Budget Control Act caps to remain in place for fiscal years 2020 and 2021, discretionary spending in 2029 will be $220 billion higher than it would be by maintaining the caps. By 2049, annual discretionary spending would be nearly $600 billion higher than it is under current law. And that’s just assuming that spending “only” grows at the rate of inflation beginning in 2020.
The plan put forth by House Democrats would raise spending by $176 billion in 2020 and $181 billion in 2021, well outpacing inflation. America cannot afford that. Congress instead should refocus federal spending on the government’s constitutional duties.

   3. The timing of reform matters.
One takeaway from the report is that the sooner Congress starts implementing reforms, the less painful it will be for Americans. The longer Congress waits, the more significant and abrupt the policy changes will have to be. These changes would likely come in the form of benefit cuts, higher taxes, or both.
For example, if Congress set a goal of reducing the ratio of debt to GDP to its historical average (42%) over the next 30 years, and started today, it would require a 2.9% of GDP reduction in the primary deficit each year. However, if Congress waited 10 years to start implementing reforms, the amount of deficit reduction needed to meet the 42% goal would rise to 4.4% of GDP annually.
The Congressional Budget Office suggests that younger and future Americans would pay the heaviest price for delaying reforms, writing that “delaying policy changes would reduce the well-being of younger generations compared with a situation in which policy changes occurred earlier.” Future generations would likely have lower incomes than their parents and see less economic opportunity throughout their lives.

   4. Entitlements and interest on the debt are driving spending growth.
The main drivers of the national debt continue to be Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid spending. By 2049, the Congressional Budget Office projects that Medicare and Social Security will together contribute to three-quarters of the national debt.
Medicare spending is projected to double over the next 30 years. Over the same period, Social Security and other health care expenditures are projected to grow by 26% and 43%, respectively.
In just 22 years, entitlement spending combined with interest on the national debt will consume all federal revenues. Net interest payments are projected to rise to nearly 5% of GDP by 2049—a staggering 172% increase compared to this year.

There’s no doubt that entitlement reform is the key to shrinking the national debt and creating a healthy, sustainable budget.
In its alternative fiscal scenario, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that if Social Security benefit payments were limited to the amount of revenue that the trust funds receive each year, the national debt would be 38% of GDP lower than the baseline projections in 2049.
Reforming health care programs could lead to even greater debt reduction. Once the debt stabilizes, the amount of the budget dedicated to interest payments on the debt would decline as well.

There’s No Time to Waste
Unless Congress begins implementing meaningful spending reforms now, mounting debt levels will shackle the economy, meaning a poorer quality of life for most Americans in the years to come. This is not conjecture, but reality.
The first step toward fiscal recovery is to reject another massive Budget Control Act cap deal that could add trillions of dollars in debt over the coming decades. Congress should then implement reforms that control the growth of entitlement programs.
If lawmakers fail to act, they may not pay the price, but future generations of Americans will. The looming debt crisis poses a serious, moral question to each member of Congress: What legacy are you leaving behind?

#2714 (6/26) "This Sunday: A Call2Fall for God's People" -

"THIS SUNDAY: A CALL2FALL FOR GOD'S PEOPLE" - by FRC's National Prayer Director, Pierre Bynum, June 25, 2019, https://www.frcaction.org/updatearticle/20190625/this-sunday
Amid the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln called all Americans to a day of prayer, fasting, and "humili[ty]." The Prophet Joel, called Judah, the Southern Kingdom of a divided Israel, to a Solemn Assembly, saying: "Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity" Joel 2:12-13. We need such times of prayer and repentance in America today -- we have strayed so far from God and his ways.

As we all know, America's problems and divisions are not political at their root -- but spiritual. They can be resolved only when God's people choose to honor God, believe, and obey Him.

The Call2Fall is a reminder of the Biblical Solemn Assembly, prolonged seasons of prayer, repentance, fasting and returning to God. It is a powerful token that God has honored by His presence in churches and homes, again and again. Amid our personal, cultural and national sins, it is a reminder of the kind of prayer we need every day. It is not a fancy program or a big show. It is a time for churches to set aside time during their Sunday services, for all the people who can, to bow their knees before the Lord in humility and unite in repentant prayer for our nation. God's people have the answer. The Call2Fall Declaration, taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14, reads:
"I will answer God's call to fall on my knees in humility and seek His face in repentance so that He might forgive my sins and heal our land."

If your pastor has not planned a Call2Fall in your church, its not too late. Give him a call or send him a note pointing to "www.Call2Fall.com." Urge him to watch Tony Perkins' short video (for the congregation) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV1VaC4g3aQ&feature=youtu.be] and Dr. Ronnie Floyd's short video "for pastors only."[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSnorC1zF6s&feature=youtu.be]

Though the hour is late, your pastor and church can still join thousands of pastors and churches across America to observe the 11th Annual Call2Fall this Sunday, June 30th. If the church schedule simply cannot be adjusted, you can still network with believers across the land by taking time to humble yourself and pray -- on your knees by yourself at home -- or with your family, or friends. Given the great moral and spiritual need of our nation, let's humble ourselves before the Lord, together, before we break out the picnic gear and fireworks, and like our Forefathers, acknowledge our dependence upon Almighty God, before we celebrate our Independence on the 4th of July!
