PRAY FOR AMERICA: THANK GOD for His many blessings on America throughout it's history. May we then ask that AMERICA once again be a blessing TO GOD, by once again submitting to HIS will in our affairs - both personal and national - that He may truly "heal our land." (2 Chron. 7:14)

WORLD-WDE PRAYER REQUESTS:
April 22 - LATEST SAHEED NEWS! "Saeed Sends Easter Message from Hospital Bed" - CBNNews.com, ; http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2014/April/Saeed-Sends-Easter-Message-from-Hospital-Bed/ "Sometimes we want to experience the glory and resurrection with Jesus without experiencing death with Him," Abedini wrote. "We do not realize that unless we pass through the path of death with Christ, we are not able to experience resurrection with Christ."Abedini signed the message from a "prisoner of darkness in Iran, but free for the kingdom and light."
We need to continue to pray for Pastor Saeed - that his health will improve and that he will be re-united with his wife and two young children who live in the United States. We also remain hopeful that in addition to getting the medical care he so desperately needs, that Iranian officials display the kind of humanitarian treatment that often accompanies the start of the Iranian New Year which began on March 21st. This is the time of year when the Iranian government frequently offers clemency to prisoners of conscience. [If you have not yet, please sign the petition for his clemency- http://beheardproject.com/saeed#sign]

As the Lord leads, please pray:
*For God to suppress President Putin’s ambitions to "restore" the Soviet empire.
*For the people of Ukrainen [esp. for the church 'to be THE church'] as they wait to see if the Russian troops will advance.
*About President Obama and to use wisdom in crafting our foreign policy, and wisdom for his advisers.

Capturing the powerful impact of a mother on her children’s lives with his quintessential brevity and pith, Abraham Lincoln once declared, “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”
Now, 150 years later, academic research has produced data [2] to buttress what Lincoln knew in his heart. A mother’s care and involvement with her children has an impact on a spectrum of aspects of their lives, and that impact can continue throughout the years.
The family has been described the first “school of love,” and, correspondingly, the relationship of children with their mothers is associated with their development of social skills in dealing with others. A mother’s sensitivity [3] in her interaction with her child from infancy through preschool years is the strongest and most consistent predictor of his or her social skills and behavior throughout childhood. Likewise, three-year-olds whose attachment to their mothers [4] is insecure are more likely to exhibit behavioral problems.
Regarding cognitive development and school readiness, a mother’s presence makes a difference. Mothers’ presence during the first nine months of life is related to greater school readiness [5] at age three. Likewise, those whose mothers were present throughout the day during their first year of life score higher, on average, in terms of cognitive development [4] at ages three through eight.
Similarly, children who have positive relationships [6] with their mothers when they are in kindergarten are less likely to exhibit behavioral problems and tend to have greater academic achievement when they are in middle school. Likewise, third- and fourth-graders whose mothers were in the home in their first year of life were less likely to “act out” or exhibit aggression [3] toward peers and tended to have a higher tolerance of frustration.
A mother’s involvement and guidance continues to have an impact when her children enter the rocky years of their teens. Adolescents whose mothers talk with them about the social and moral consequences of early sexual activity [7] are less likely to become sexually active.
Yet perhaps more powerful than the data of academic research is the wisdom of the heart spoken by Lincoln, whose mother died when he was just nine. In his words: “I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.”

"The Unsung Heroes of Mother’s Day: Birthmoms" - by Bethany Goodman | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 5/9/14; http://www.lifenews.com/2014/05/09/the-unsung-heroes-of-mothers-day-birthmoms/
As the May flowers come to life and Mother’s Day rolls around, let’s remember to honor the unsung heroes of the holiday – birthmoms.
Every year, 20,000 domestic infant adoptions in the U.S. occur. Tragically, contrast that with over 1.2 million abortions in the U.S. annually. Every abortion statistic represents a life, full of potential and hope, which was snuffed out.
However, thousands of women each year, when faced with an unexpected pregnancy choose to make an adoption plan. By choosing life, birthmoms make the choice to change the world forever through the life of a child. What would the world be like if Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, and Eleanor Roosevelt, all whom were adopted, had never been given a chance at life?
At this year’s March for Life, under the theme “Adoption: A Noble Decision,” Molly Anne Dutton shared how her birthmom was the victim of sexual assault and faced an ultimatum from her husband to abort. However, she found her way to Lifeline Child Services in Birmingham, Alabama and made an adoption plan for Molly Anne. This beautiful and courageous young woman would not be here today without the decision of her birthmom! Another one of our speakers, Ryan Dobson of Family Talk Radio, had a similar story of owing his life to a brave birthmom. You can watch his story below:
Studies have shown that many mothers fear that by placing her baby for adoption, she is a “bad mother;” she fears that she is abandoning her child. In reality, adoption is a heroic decision! It is a decision that is not right for everyone, however, when chosen it is noble and generous. Additionally, there are approximately 500,000 loving couples in the United States waiting to adopt. The truth is that adoption is the most heroic thing that a mother, who is not ready to care for a child, can do!
When a mother chooses adoption over abortion, birthmom, adoptive parents, and the baby all benefit tremendously from her decision! Adoption is not abandonment, but a beautiful opportunity for a happy future.
Be sure to check out the many fantastic resources available to women who are facing an unexpected pregnancy or are considering making an adoption plan ....
