"Not Everyone Happy with Religious Ambassador Pick," Caitlin Burke,July 29, 2014;
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2014/July/Obama-Taps-Rabbi-for-Religious-Freedom-Ambassador/ "..An estimated 76 percent of the world's population live in countries where religious freedom is restricted. Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States must take a strong stand against those violations. "Around the world repressive governments and extremists groups have been crystal clear about what they stand against, so we have to be equally clear about what we must stand for," Kerry said. "We stand for greater freedom, for greater tolerance, greater respect, for rights of freedom of expression and freedom of conscience," he said A key development in the 2013 report is the large number of displaced members of religious communities, including entire Christian communities in Syria and Iraq that have been forced to flee their homes because of persecution."
SIGN A PETITION TO THE UN FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHRISTIANS :" The church in Syria has shone brightly for 2,000 years. But today violence and persecution threatens its survival. Thanks to an incredible response, Open Doors is helping 8,000 families in Syria survive each month. We believe the signatures and prayers of 500,000 people will encourage the UN to act and protect the rights and lives of all Syrians, especially the vulnerable Christian community." LATEST SAHEED NEWS! May 22 - "Pastor Saeed Forcibly Returned to Prison after Beating" - By Caitlin Burke,CBN News, May 22, 2014;
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2014/May/Pastor-Saeed-Beaten-Sent-Back-to-Iran-Prison/ "Saeed Abedini, a U.S. pastor imprisoned for his faith, was severely beaten at an Iranian hospital before being returned to the brutal Rajai Shahr prison. His Iranian family claims the transfer was unexpected and the reason is unclear. But one of the guards involved in the transfer suggested recent Iranian nuclear talks could be a motive, the family said...""
We need to continue to pray for Pastor Saeed - that his health will improve and that he will be re-united with his wife and two young children who live in the United States. We also remain hopeful that in addition to getting the medical care he so desperately needs, that Iranian officials display the kind of humanitarian treatment that often accompanies the start of the Iranian New Year which began on March 21st. This is the time of year when the Iranian government frequently offers clemency to prisoners of conscience. [If you have not yet, please sign the petition for his clemency- http://beheardproject.com/saeed#sign]

[TODAY is the National Day of Remembrance For Aborted Children] "What if America Held a Funeral for The 57 Million Babies Killed in Abortion?" - by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 9/12/14; http://www.lifenews.com/2014/09/12/what-if-america-held-a-funeral-for-the-57-million-babies-killed-in-abortion/ [AS I SEE IT: It was 25 years ago that I attended a pro-life rally in Los Angeles on Good Friday night that year. At one point in the service, they announced that they would be burying the remains of a baby that had been aborted through saline solution the following day and that they wanted us to all file past the body. Up untill then, I had seen pictures of aborted babies but this was the first time (and the only time since) that I'd seen an actual aborted baby. I walked past no more than a few feet from the charred remains of what was clearly a fully developed baby, so close that I could have reached over and touched it. Before then, I had been convinced intellectually that abortion was murder but it was the sight of an ACTUAL dead baby that brought the point home to me as nothing else had before or since. It was clearly a turning point of my pro-life odyssey. I only wish everyone could have that same experience. Afterwards, being pro-life would never stop at mere intellectual assent but it would be a passion that grips your heart as it has continued to do mine. - Stan]
Tens of thousands of pro-life people will participate in the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children on Saturday at over 100 locations nationwide. The event, held at actual burial places of aborted babies and other memorial sites, will serve as a powerful reminder of how abortion kills children. The event marks the 26th anniversary of the burial of 1200 aborted babies at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
“The National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children is taking place tomorrow at more than 120 locations nationwide, including the actual burial places of aborted babies and other memorial sites,” says Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League. “I hope you’ll join me tomorrow as we mourn for all the babies who have lost their lives to legal abortion in our country and rededicate ourselves to fighting for their protection.”
Pro-life activist Monica Miller is also urging people to attend the events tomorrow around the country.
“On Saturday, September 13th, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League are calling on pro-life Americans to participate in a National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children to honor the gravesites of our unborn brothers and sisters,” she told LifeNews. “The date of September 14, 2013, was chosen for this event because it marks the 25th anniversary of the burial of several hundred abortion victims in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.”
Why visit the grave sites of aborted babies?
“When people become aware of the reality of abortion, they can more easily cut through the lies by which some try to justify it, and the natural apathy to which human nature is inclined. Even pro-life people are thrust into a higher level of commitment and activism,” Miller says. “Touching the reality of abortion happens in various ways: hearing a description of the procedure, seeing diagrams of it, seeing images of aborted children, hearing a woman’s personal testimony of regret over her abortion.”
“This impact, whereby abortion no longer remains an abstraction, can be brought to an even more profound level when experienced in an event, such as a funeral for an aborted baby,” Miller continues. “Tens of thousands of these children have been retrieved and buried at gravesites across our country. The stories of how they were killed, how they were found, and how they were buried, along with the images and videos that accompany those events, are powerful tools to awaken the consciences of our fellow citizens.”
Miller continued: “But while a funeral and burial for an aborted baby may be a relatively rare event, the opportunity to visit the burial places and recall how those children got there does not have to be rare—in fact, it should not be rare. Pro-lifers should be visiting these gravesites—and other memorial sites dedicated to aborted babies—as a regular part of their pro-life witness. That’s what the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children is all about.”
