NOW THAT THE ELECTION IS OVER:1) Let's be praying that God showed us grace in giving us representatives who will sincerely work to DO NO HARM to us and future generations. Let's also be praying that should He have chosen to give us those who WILL do us harm, that He extends mercy to us now and for the years ahead. His will is now done as far as the results we have. Now it's up to us to be diligent to hold those elected accountable!, and 2) Let's be praying that the present lame-duck session in Congress will not be allowed to pass legislation that will do harm to our country as they can easily do. (See post #1051 - 'Return of the Zombie).
U.S. Supreme Court has Reconvened: Let's be praying WHENEVER the Court is in session as their decisions can have impact on GENERATIONS to come. The fact that they may have an opportunity this session to actually vote on same-sex "marriage" where it has the same impact on this country that Roe v. Wade did should be motivating enough!
Of course, let's CONTINUE PRAYING FOR AN END TO THE EBOLA CRISIS IN WEST AFRICA AND THE HEALING OF ALL THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN INFECTED.
"Announcing His Lawless Executive Action on Immigration, Obama Takes Aim at Straw Men" - Derrick Morgan / November 20, 2014;

Tonight, President Obama called for reasonable debate while attacking an army of straw men: those who want to rip children out of the arms of parents, deport college graduates, close off the country to immigration and those who want to do nothing to fix our broken immigration system. There’s just one catch: Nobody is calling for those policies.
What is broken about our immigration system?
We could streamline legal immigration and encourage more high-skilled immigration, no doubt. But the biggest problem is lack of law enforcement. Instead of addressing that issue, Obama’s order doubles down on our lawless system by granting a new, temporary status for millions of illegal immigrants.
Trying a mass amnesty might have more merit if it had not been tried before. In 1986, Congress passed, and President Ronald Reagan signed, a bill granting a “one-time only” mass amnesty to 3 million along with promises of law enforcement and border security. We’re still waiting for those later promises to be fulfilled, but now we have 11 million or more illegal immigrants.
Even Obama once understood this: “I believe such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair … this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration,” he said.
Congress and the American people oppose trying this same unfair policy without first ensuring our border is secure and our laws are enforced.
Instead of working with Congress on areas in which there is agreement—like reforming our legal immigration system—the president continues to insist on an amnesty-first policy. He also noted that the “politics of the issue are tough.” (I guess he would know since his “policies were on the ballot”—including amnesty—and his party was defeated soundly.)
Obama pointed out that some people use the issue “around election time to get votes.” Here he might be on to something. His immigration policies are incredibly unpopular, as evidenced by polls and especially by the fact that the president decided to take these actions after the midterm elections. His contempt for the voters’ wishes and their representatives in Congress was palpable.
Using Orwellian language, Obama talked about prioritizing enforcement and shielding from deportation. But he has already done these things before. Tonight, he went a step further and is preparing to give out millions of new work permits to those who are here illegally.
There are 10 things Obama could do to really prioritize enforcement and start repairing our broken system. These are all within his power as president. Instead, Obama has decided to stretch the concept of prosecutorial discretion behind any reasonable limit.["Ten-Step Checklist for Revitalizing America’s Immigration System: How the Administration Can Fulfill Its Responsibilities" - David Inserra - http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2014/11/ten-step-checklist-for-revitalizing-americas-immigration-system-how-the-administration-can-fulfill-its-responsibilities]
Congress should do everything in its power to stop the president’s lawless and inappropriate amnesty. It is bad policy. And it also steals too much power from Congress and gives it to the presidency.

"Obama's Amnesty Lawlessness Demands Accountability" - David Limbaugh | Nov 21, 2014; http://townhall.com/columnists/davidlimbaugh/2014/11/21/obamas-amnesty-lawlessness-demands-accountability-n1921756/page/full
"... In attempting to rationalize every one of Obama's serial outrages, liberal politicians and pundits invariably draw arrows from their bloated moral equivalence quivers.'President Obama is doing nothing other than what Republican presidents have done in the past,' they say. 'Why didn't you conservatives complain then?'
A number of discriminating writers have conclusively put the lie to this specious claim. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush issued executive orders concerning immigration, but their actions were in furtherance of implementing legislation passed by Congress. Obama's order is in direct contravention of Congress' express will on the matter. It was fashioned out of whole cloth, and no amount of leftist spin can change that inconvenient truth
Have some among us become so cynical as to believe that our Constitution's framers distributed federal power among three branches and imposed an intricate system of checks and balances as a matter of mere whim? Forbid that abominable thought. This structure, often attributed to French philosopher and lawyer Montesquieu, was believed fundamental to establishing and preserving our individual liberties -- perhaps more fundamental than even the very Bill of Rights. In Federalist No. 47, James Madison wrote, 'The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.'
Would-be dictators and bullies must be opposed, resisted and defeated. It will not be acceptable for Congress to sit on its hands after Obama's usurpation. It must act not as a matter of partisan competition but on behalf of the Constitution itself and the sovereignty of the American people, which it has a sacred duty to safeguard."
