#1744 (10/19) "Mother Who Lost Daughter in Columbine Speaks Out Against Political Correctness"

ATTENTIONPlease SCROLL DOWN this page to find the article titled on this post in LARGE BRIGHT BLUE CAPITAL LETTERS. Thank you.)
My Greatest Concern is to be on God's Side

PRAYER MATTERS:"To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world." - Karl Barth; "Prayer is inviting God into a seemingly impossible situation and trusting/resting in His love and grace to accomplish His perfect will in His perfect time and for His greatest glory." - Stan

PRAY FOR AMERICA: THANK GOD for His many blessings on America throughout it's history. May we then ask that AMERICA once again be a blessing TO GOD, by once again submitting to HIS will in our affairs - both personal and national - that He may truly "heal our land." (2 Chron. 7:14) Short of that, we should not be saying "God Bless America"but instead "God be merciful towards America!" Rev. Franklin Graham: "I do know that the president defends Islam and chastises Christians, rebukes our allies and befriends our enemies, and fully supports gay marriages and abortion but denies the religious freedoms of those who don't agree. Our nation is ridiculed abroad and morally crumbling within. We are in trouble. We have turned our back on God."

PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS Let's be praying that they might be Spirit-filled, leading us with Godly wisdom and integrity; that they will  only pass legislation and enact policies that will benefit Americans today as well as future generations and NOT do any lasting harm.
PRAY that the justices sitting on the Supreme Court will only hand down decisions that are in the best interests of our country now and for future generations. [NOTEThere are only 23 days until Election Day. Please consider praying DAILY beginning  TODAY - if you are not already -  that Americans will vote in November with wisdom and discernment, for the leaders and policies that are best for America today and for generations to come. Pray that Americans will elect leaders at the state (Governors, state legislators) and national (Congress and President) levels who have Spirit-filled wisdom, integrity, and a Biblical world-view, who will know and do what is best for us today as well as for future generations.
YOUR Vote Is Important This Coming November. Check out the following site with answers to your questions of …Why should I vote? How to register to vote? What [more] can I do?http://www.commit2vote2016.com/

URGENTA Christian Mother's Mandatory Death Penalty Could Be Overturned. PRAY and Sign the Petition Now
- https://aclj.org/persecuted-church/save-christian-mom-asia-bibi-from-execution? - Almost 6 years ago, when Bibi defended her faith at her workplace, the workers accused her of insulting the Islamic prophet Mohmmed. She was soon arrested on blasphemy charges and sentenced to death by hanging by a local judge. She has been languishing on death row nearly 6 years - separated from her husband and five kids all because of her Christian faith. Since then lawyers and human rights activists have been working around the clock to appeal the case and give her a second chance at life.
Now, after more than 2,100 excruciating days, Pakistan's Supreme Court has just granted her an early review of her final appeal. This is a monumental moment in her case. Pakistan's Supreme Court will hear her final appeal THIS week -  on Wed.Oct. 12 -  to decide whether she lives or dies. On that day, the court could release her or have her hanged. If executed, she would be the first woman executed under Pakistan's brutal blasphemy law. The American Center for Law and Justice has been aggressively advocating for her freedom for years - including through our office on the ground in Pakistan. But now is the time for urgent action. The ACLJ is stepping up their vigorous legal advocacy campaign across the globe for her freedom. It is imperative that each of us be heard.
Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) is asking Christians around the world to join in a 24/7 prayer marathon the week of her appeal. CSW is asking them to pray for the following:
That Asia would be acquitted.
For her strength and restoration during and after the hearing.
For wisdom and protection for Saiful Malook, her lawyer; and for the judges hearing her case.
For the wider Christian community who may face a backlash whatever the outcome of the appeal.
For an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Pakistan, to maintain calm in the country.
For justice for others accused of blasphemy, and that the government would urgently amend the blasphemy laws.

Don't let them execute Christian mom Asia Bibi!; SIGN the petition and PRAY for this court decision! [I've been praying in addition that , should she be released and the situation be too tense for her and her family to remain in Pakistan, they would be able to find asylum in another country, possibly even the U.S. - Stan]

"MOTHER WO LOST DAUGHTER IN COLUMBINE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST POLITICAL CORRECTNESS"- Cortney O'Brien | Oct 18, 2016; http://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2016/10/18/mother-who-lost-daughter-in-columbine-speaks-out-against-political-correctness-n2231761 [AS I SEE IT: Here is a movie EVERY youth group should be taking their students to go to see. How greatly we need for this generation of young people to be embolden to stand up for their faith and for Biblical truth in a world obsessed with political correctness. - Stan]

It’s been 17 years since Beth Nimmo lost her daughter Rachel Joy Scott in the shooting at Columbine High School. Time will not make the loss less painful, but this year Ms. Nimmo is ready to share some precious pieces of Rachel’s life in a new film by Pure Flix Entertainment, I'm Not Ashamed.

Many Americans are aware of what transpired in the last moments of Rachel's life. On April 20,1999, two of her fellow classmates approached her with their firearms and asked her if she still believed in God. When she looked at them and said, “You know I do,” they responded, “Then go be with him,” before shooting and killing her. Her bold faith became an inspiration to Christians everywhere.

I'm Not Ashamed tells the story of how Rachel became a Christian, using several of her own writings and drawings that illustrate just how she was able to practice her faith so boldly.

Nimmo told Townhall she was a little apprehensive about the film at first, but she is “very pleased” with how authentic the movie turned out. She had kind words for Masey McLain, the actress who plays her daughter in the film. To prepare for the leading role, McLain studied Rachel’s journals and prayed on set in order to portray her as accurately as she could.

“Duck Dynasty’s” Sadie and Korie Robertson also make cameos in the film in what Nimmo described as the most important scene – the moment Rachel accepts Jesus as her savior. It goes without saying how much Ms. Nimmo’s daughter’s diary entries means to her. “I’ve seen those ever since Rachel died,” Nimmo explained. “That was a catalyst for why this movie needed to be told.”

Nimmo says Rachel's writings prove she had a “burden for the lost.” “She wrote about touching people’s hearts,” Nimmo explained. “Her love for the Lord really radiated how she treated people. I think a lot of her writing, especially when she’s talking to God. God used her to be a light. To reach kids, especially her peers who are in despair, facing a lot of obstacles and didn’t really have direction in their life. I think she wanted to show them Jesus was the answer for so many of those things.”

Nimmo has forgiven her daughter’s killers. She said it’s what Rachel would have wanted. “First of all, it’s scriptural,” Nimmo explained. “As a believer, I want to be obedient to the word. Secondly, I want to represent Rachel because that would be her heart to do so. She would have been the first to say, ‘Mom, please forgive.' Thirdly, I do it because April 20, 1999 was a life sentence for Rachel. And I didn’t want to make it my life sentence.

“When you hold on to anger and resentment, you’ve really locked yourself down to that point of not being able to move forward,” she added. “I was determined that what happened to me that day would not define the rest of my life.” The act of forgiving, Nimmo was sure to note, does not mean she’s saying it’s okay what happened. It’s allowing herself to move forward.

It’s also a process. Nimmo shared that she still has to practice forgiving because she sees or hears things that trigger negative emotions.

If you couldn’t tell from the title, I'm Not Ashamed was filmed with the hope of emboldening Christians to wear their faith on their sleeves. “We’re hoping to do more than just present a film and tell Rachel’s story,” Nimmo said. “We’re hoping to really start a movement and for kids to champion their faith.”

Speaking out about one’s faith is increasingly difficult in today’s culture, she lamented. She put part of the blame on the rise of social media, which she says is “trying to redefine who we are as a country” and “redefine the role of parents.”

As for the PC police, Nimmo is not a fan. “I’m one that I don’t care about being politically correct,” she insisted. “The purpose of that is to silence truth. We're afraid to address what’s real, what’s really happening. I don’t step away from saying what I believe.”

It’s harder, however, for children to do that. Rachel understood that, Nimmo said. Her daughter often chronicled the struggles of being a Christian at school and how kids mocked her. It’s time to change the conversation and offer Christians their own safe space.

“It’s going to take working together,” Nimmo said. We want kids to know they’re not alone, they’re not isolated. There’s a lot of Rachels out there that really love the Lord and want to be impacting their school and their community but they feel overwhelmed because they don’t realize there are others who feel that way.

"I'm Not Ashamed" is in theaters this Friday, October 21.
