URGENT: 12/13- American Center For Law and Justice: On trial for their faith, two Christian Pastors in Sudan face death. Christian Pastors Hassan Abduraheem and Kuwa Shamal have been brutally imprisoned for nearly a year – 359 days – in deplorable conditions. Their trial has been delayed time and time again.Their churches miss them. Their families need them. They face possible death sentences because they are Christians. At the ACLJ, we've launched a massive international legal advocacy campaign for their freedom. We're preparing critical legal letters to Sudan, raising their case with world leaders, and preparing action at the U.N. They could be sentenced to hang for their faith if the world is silent. Christian Pastors Hassan and Kuwa need your voice now.
Time is of the essence, as the trial continues. Our silence could be their death.
Other Christians facing death in Sudan are now free because you spoke out. Demand Sudan free Pastors Hassan and Kuwa now. Sign Our NEW Petition: Save Christian Pastors from Death...https://aclj.org/persecuted-church/save-christian-pastors-from-possible-death?
URGENT: 12/16 - American Center For Law and Justice: A Christian pastor in Turkey was just imprisoned. He is in danger. American Pastor Andrew Brunson - a U.S. citizen from North Carolina - has been falsely charged with "membership in an armed terrorist organization." The charging documents state no "evidence has[] been gathered" against him. He has been a Christian pastor in Turkey for the past 23 years. Pastor Andrew had been in a detention center since October 7, 2016, but he was just transferred to prison. During his 63-day detainment, he was denied access to his Turkish attorney. Turkey - our NATO ally - has begun increased crackdowns on Christians. If convicted, Pastor Andrew could face years in prison based on extremely serious - and false - charges.
At the ACLJ, we're representing the family, mobilizing our international resources - including our offices in the region - demanding Pastor Andrew's freedom. We must act quickly before it is too late. Pastor Andrew's Turkish attorney is filing an urgent appeal of his arrest today. Pastor Andrew urgently needs your voice now. Demand his freedom.https://aclj.org/persecuted-church/free-american-pastor-andrew-brunson?
My Personal Update 12/27 -Thanks for your continued prayers as I have been at my new job for a month now. Every work day continues to be an adventure of challenges but also sometimes of rewarding moments. A highlight happened several days before Christmas when I finally took time to ask a Salvation Army bell ringer whether or not he had a relationship with God. He told me that he was Roman Catholic but wasn't sure of whether he had such a relationship. Unfortunately, I then needed to return to my job as I had just completed my dinner break. I was able to give him a gospel tract with my email address on it. He said that he would read it and try to get back to me. How greatly I regret not having approached him sooner as now he is gone and I have to trust he will read the booklet and place his trust in Christ. (Please be praying for Brian.) As to my job, I have a sense of being more supported by my co-workers despite my not picking up on some things as quickly as I would wish and I 'm sure they would want. ): By the way, I suddenly realized just the other day that I drive for several miles after 10 pm on a road that has stretches of no lighting. The fact that I'm driving a car that will be 20 years old in 2017 increases my concern. Please pray for my protection on the road as well as on the job. Thanks.
PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS: 1) Pray for esp. PRESIDENT-ELECT TRUMP and his advisors that they would select Godly leaders who will be accountable to do an excellent job (or be fired!) ; that he would seek God's wisdom and be enabled to lead our country effectively in the years ahead; and 2) Pray our leaders at every level of government will Spirit-filled, leading us with Godly wisdom and integrity; that they will only pass legislation and enact policies that will benefit Americans today as well as future generations and NOT do any lasting harm.
SUPREME COURT: PRAY that the justices sitting on the Supreme Court will only hand down decisions that are in the best interests of our country now and for future generations.

"6 POLITICAL NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS YOU SHOULD MAKE" - Sondra Clark / January 02, 2017 / http://dailysignal.com/2017/01/02/6-political-new-years-resolutions-you-should-make/?
As the calendar year ends, minds quickly turn to losing weight, eating healthy, saving money, and spending more time with family. But just as 2016 caused us to rethink politics, it’s time to rethink this year’s New Year’s resolutions.
The voice of the American voters has never been louder, and with unified Republican control of the House, Senate, and White House for the first time in 15 years, there promises to be a lot happening in 2017. It’s time to step up and get involved.
Here are some political resolutions to consider adopting in 2017:
1) Connect with your member of Congress: Members of Congress are responsible and accountable to their constituents. It’s important for the voter to stay up-to-date on congressional votes and issues. Sign up to get the most recent news and information from your member. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter. (Remember, many members have a personal and an official account). Subscribe to your member’s email newsletters and set up a Google alert to stay up-to-date on all the news from your senators and representative.
2) Get active on Twitter: Twitter is one of the most effective ways to get direct contact with your lawmaker. Sign up for a Twitter account and set a goal of tweeting at least three times a week about articles, opinions, or votes you want your network and your member to see. If you need help getting started, you can sign up for Heritage Action’s weekly Twitter newsletter.
3) Write a letter to the editor: Get your name in print by writing a letter to the editor in response to an editorial or giving your unique perspective on an issue. Remember to keep it brief: It should be no longer than 250 words and focused on one particular issue. The best letters to the editor have a personal connection to the topic you are talking about. Keep the tone formal and polite. Make sure your statements can be backed up with solid evidence.
4) Get involved locally: No one knows the needs of your community better than you. Use the new year to find out what’s happening in your political community. Attend a town hall, go to a neighborhood meeting, or join a local political group.
5) Read a political book: Keeping up with the news is important. To understand the current news, keep things in perspective. Take time out of the 24-hour news cycle and read a historical book like “A Republic of Spin” by David Greenberg or a cultural commentary like “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance. Check out some of The Heritage Foundation’s staff recommendations on The Daily Signal.
6) Join an activist program: Politics can be isolating, but it’s much better with a community of people. Join a local or national organization to amplify your voice and coordinate your efforts with other grassroots activists across the country. Heritage Action, the sister organization of The Heritage Foundation, has a community of over 17,500 activists that participate in weekly strategy calls. Get one-on-one training from activism coaches and the latest news from Washington, D.C. Consider joining the Heritage Action Sentinel Program today.
Voters delivered a mandate for change—real change this time—in November. This is the year for grassroots America to continue the momentum by leaning in, speaking up, and getting involved. Will you step up in 2017?
