#532 (5/25) Latest Word From Pastor Held Prisoner/American Missionary Missing in Africa

URGENT PRAYERS/PETITIONS: From the Florida Family Policy Council( May 21) :Boy Scout Vote On Admitting Homosexual Scouts : "Homosexual activists, having convinced BSA leadership to spearhead the proposed change in policy (which would force every Scouting unit to allow open homosexuality among its boys), know that losing this issue would be the biggest set-back for the homosexual agenda in America yet, also affecting literally millions of young Boy Scouts. They also know if they can win this BSA battle on THURS. May 23rd  , this will likely to be taken into consideration by some U.S. Supreme Court Justices as they deliberate and announce their decision on whether to overturn the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in June, which currently defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.  Also, if gay activists win, you can bet they will be celebrating their victories in all the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) parades in a few weeks – June is Gay Pride month. And trust me, they are pulling out all the stops to win!" May 24 - In lieu of the majority of the leadership voting to admit homosexual Scouts on Thursday, PRAY 1) that somehow the Scouts will somehow maintain their long history of developing true character in boys and young men and not furthering sexual and political agendas, 2) for the millions of Scouts and their parents who must now decide whether to stay in the program, and 3) that a safe alternative may somehow be created for those boys who do leave the program.

Same -Sex "Marriage"- PLEASE PRAY WITH ME (every day untill the decision is revealed around mid-June) THAT THE SUPREME COURT WILL VOTE TO UPHOLD THE 2 LAWS REVIEWED SUPPORTING A TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE.. PRAY that the Court will resist any pressure to MAKE new law based on "cultural trends." PRAY as though the very future of the institution of the family is at stake because it is. PRAY! -  for the sake of possibly millions of children, and for our country if it is to continue to be shown any more favor by our Heavenly Father, who I promise you will be very displeased if homosexual marriage is legalized; "GOD IS NOT [TO BE] MOCKED..." - (Gal. 6:7)  - Stan [Be sure to check out my brief essay at post #478.]

"Prayers from Prison: American Pastor Held in Iran Releases Letter," May 22, 2013;http://www.presidentialprayerteam.com/Prayerwatch?pw=1458

The American pastor jailed in Iran for his Christian faith has managed to get a letter out to his global supporters, thanking them for their prayers while confirming the brutality of his conditions.

Saeed Abedini, the 33-year-old Idaho resident serving an eight-year prison term in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison, passed the letter to family members who were permitted to visit him after several weeks of isolation. The letter was passed to Abedini’s wife, Naghmeh, who is at their Boise-area home with their two children and unable to visit her husand for fear of being arrested herself.

"I heard that the persecution, my arrest and imprisonment has united churches from different denominations, from different cities and countries, that would never come together because of their differences," Abedini wrote. "You don’t know how happy I was in the Lord and rejoiced knowing that in my chains the body of Christ has chained together and is brought to action and prayer." His letter went on to say, "The Word of God says that when we are persecuted for our faith, we are to count it all joy. When I think that all of these trials and persecutions are being recorded in heaven for me, my heart is filled with complete joy. "The Bible says that the Joy of the Lord is our strength. Without the joy of the Lord we cannot live. It is this joy in our life that gives us strength to continue in this life. Without strength, we cannot continue the work of the Lord and without joy, there is no strength." Abedini signed the letter: "With many thanks for your continued and faithful prayers, Servant of our Lord in chains for Jesus Christ, Saeed."

Abedini has been held at the brutal prison for 238 days, enduring long stints in solitary confinement, and, according to his supporters, beatings and torture at the hands of his jailers and fellow inmates. For months, he has been suffering from serious injuries, including internal bleeding from beatings with no proper medical attention, according to his family and attorneys.(Sources: Fox News, Assemblies of God website)

As the Lord leads, please pray:
  • For the imprisoned Pastor Abedini, and for those Iranians who tend to his needs in prison to treat him more humanely.
  • For his family in Boise, Idaho. and their efforts to involve the U.S. State Department in securing Pastor Abedini’s release.
  • For the impact of his witness upon believers and non-believers, in America and across the world.

"American Missionary Mysteriously Disappears in Africa,"By Efrem Graham,  May 24, 2013 http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2013/May/American-Missionary-Mysteriously-Disappears-in-Africa/?cpid=EU_CWN_2013_144

American missionary Jerry Krause has been missing for nearly two months. The 54-yr-old missionary pilot disappeared April 7 while flying his turboprop aircraft from South Africa to Mali.

Jerry's wife, Gina Krause, served with her husband as a missionary to Africa for more than 25 years. Jerry worked with Mission Aviation Fellowship until the ministry left Mali back in 2009. They remained in the country and Jerry took a job with a private aviation company. "I want my husband back," cried Gina. "My husband is self-motivated, very intelligent." "He's a central figure to our family. A man of God you know. He's awesome, I love him to death," their daughter Jessica Krause added. Gina said her husband was so solid he was the one who kept "the family together." Now Jerry's family is having to rely more on God.

He phoned right before departing South Africa and said he had some engine problems with the plane. But having years of experience Gina knew her husband could fix the engines. "He's a little bit of a McGuyver. He likes fiddling with things and he's able to get things to work. So, he was going to do that and he was pretty optimistic about leaving," she said. Enroute to Mali the family expected Jerry to refuel in Sao Tome, an island nation at the equator, in the gulf of Guinea. But no one could tell the family if he was seen refueling there.

They are now left wondering if Jerry experienced engine trouble and landed the plane in a remote region of Africa, or did something worse happen? "Though we didn't have any concrete evidence, I think rationally there's definitely a lot of different little indications leaning towards a plane crash," said Jessica.
Not knowing her father's whereabouts or what happened is the hardest part for daughter Alyssa. She said she's comes to trust God in everything. "Okay, alright God, this is all yours. Whenever you're ready to tell us where my dad is, that's awesome, but we'll wait for your timing." And Jerry's son Nathan says the book of Job reminds him not to blame God. "I'm giving praise to God instead and asking God why did he do this, but not  in  a demeaning way--just questioning and waiting for God to answer."

No plane wreckage turned up after rescuers searched the gulf of Guinea."And to this day we don't know where Jerry is, but God does," Gina said. His family and Christians around the world are praying for answers. Let's  PRAY that: 1) this beloved husband, father, and servant of God would be located soon, and 2) God would continue to comfort the family and strengthen their hope during this time.
