"Prayers from Prison: American Pastor Held in Iran Releases Letter," May 22, 2013; http://www.presidentialprayerteam.com/Prayerwatch?pw=1458"...Abedini has been held at the brutal prison for 238 days, enduring long stints in solitary confinement, and, according to his supporters, beatings and torture at the hands of his jailers and fellow inmates. For months, he has been suffering from serious injuries, including internal bleeding from beatings with no proper medical attention, according to his family and attorneys."(Sources: Fox News, Assemblies of God website)
As the Lord leads, please pray:
- For the imprisoned Pastor Abedini, and for those Iranians who tend to his needs in prison to treat him more humanely.
- For his family in Boise, Idaho. and their efforts to involve the U.S. State Department in securing Pastor Abedini’s release.
- For the impact of his witness upon believers and non-believers, in America and across the world.

"During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing today, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., grilled outgoing IRS commissioner Steven Miller about the IRS targeting a pro-life group in Iowa.
"Their question, specifically asked from the IRS to the Coalition for Life of Iowa: ‘Please detail the content of the members of your organization’s prayers,’" Schock declared. “Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501 c3 applicant?” asked Schock. “The content of one’s prayers?”
“...It pains me to say I can’t speak to that one either,” Miller replied. After Schock pressed him further, Miller explained that although he couldn't comment on the specific case, it would "surprise him" if that question was asked. The report comes from the Thomas More Society, a national public interest law firm for religious liberty.
"Former Abortion Doctor Testifies for Life," May 24, 2013 http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2013/May/Former-Abortion-Doctor-Testifies-for-Life/
A former abortion doctor is now speaking out against abortion as Congress considers a federal law to ban abortions after 20 weeks. Dr. Anthony Levatino performed as many as 1,200 abortions in his career, but now he's pro-life. Levatino told members of the House Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice that unborn babies feel pain. He also argued that those who say abortions can save the life of the mother do not have a valid argument. Levatino has treated hundreds of pregnant women with life-threatening conditions. Still, he told the congressional committee: "Is abortion a viable treatment option in this setting? I maintain that it usually, if not always, is not."

"Wal-Mart "game changer"--no more business as usual!," May 23, 2013; info@mastermediaintl.org , by Dr. Larry Poland
The Power of Wal-Mart
The Hollywood Connection
Would you believe that Wal-Mart may become such a force in the movie business that a Hollywood studio would be reluctant—or insane—to release a movie that didn’t fit Wal-Mart’s moral guidelines?
And what if . . . ?
What if this first test is a huge success and Man of Steel becomes a blockbuster as a result of the Wal-Mart connection? What if Wal-Mart becomes a “gatekeeper”—influencing the films that studios release by refusing to use this marketing strategy for movies that are not “family friendly”? That would be a game changer!
And . . . what if individuals at the top of the decision matrix at both Warner Bros. and Wal-Mart were committed Christians, seeking content in films that honors God and Jesus Christ? This is actually happening! [Let's be praying toward that end!] Individuals who have been influenced spiritually by the Mastermedia team are positioned to build on this marketing strategy and advance the cause of righteous entertainment.
